CHAPTER 3 : FOODS PROHIBITED TO EAT

"It is forbidden for you (to eat) carrion, blood, pork, (animal meat) that was slaughtered in the name of other than Allah, that was strangled, that was beaten, that fell, that was gored, and that was gored by a wild animal, except for the one that you slaughtered, and (it is forbidden) for you) that is slaughtered for idols.” (Al Maidah 3) From the verse above it is clear that the Forbidden Foods are: 1.       Carcass 2.       Blood and Blood thatflow (except liver and spleen) 3.       Pork 4.       Animals that are slaughtered are not in the name of God (Bismillah...) 5.       Animals that died in a state of suffocation 6.       An animal that died because it was hit by using an object 7.       Animals that die from falling from a height 8.       Animals that die because they are gored by other animals 9.       Animals that die because they are attacked by wild animals 10.     Venomous animals (snakes), fangs, sharp claws, carnivores 11.     Animals that are dirty and carry diseases such as dogs (rabies), rats, cockroaches and so on 12.     All intoxicating things such as Alcohol and certain Drugs as well as Plants that destroy common sense. ARGUMENTS FOR PROHIBITION O people who believe! That verily alcohol and gambling and idolatry and casting lots with arrow shafts, are (all) dirty (detestable) from Satan's deeds. Therefore you should stay away from it so that you will succeed. (Al-Maidah 90) Say (O Muhammad): "I have not found in what has been revealed to me, anything that is prohibited for those who want to eat it unless it is a carcass, or flowing blood, or pork - for indeed it is unclean - or something done wickedly, i.e. animals slaughtered in the name of something other than God". Then whoever is forced (to eat it due to emergency) while he does not want it and does not exceed the limit, then indeed your Lord is Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-An'am 6:145) All intoxicants are intoxicants and all intoxicants are forbidden.” (HR. Muslim)
